Starting university can seem daunting, but with so much going on, you’ll feel at home in no time. Canterbury Christ Church is kicking off celebrations with one big welcome party for all freshers. This is a chance to meet and get to know fellow freshers before the term begins. Dance the night away with amazing DJs, as well as freebies and low-priced drinks all night.

Monday 19th September 2016 (21.00-03.00) – Freshers Ball 2016

With a media production team attending to take photographs throughout the night, the dress code for the Canterbury Freshers Ball this year is “Dress to Impress”. So get your glad rags on for this unmissable night of partying including a live DJ spinning your favourite tunes. Arrive early to take advantage of the free entry before 10pm. Situated at the Old Brewery Tavern in Canterbury.

Tuesday 20th September 2016 (10.00-15.00) – Food Festival

For all you foodies out there, here is a chance to grab some freebies and get some inspiration on what to cook now that you’ll be catering for yourself. Don’t forget to pack your saucepans!

Wednesday 21st September (10.00-16.00) – Freshers Fayre

You may be hungover from all the partying so far, but it’s important to make time for the Freshers Fayre. This is a chance for you to meet reps from the university, student’s union and other student events companies, who can provide information on activities, sports clubs, societies, job opportunities, competitions and much more. Finding out what’s on offer will help you get a feel for the university from the outset, even if don’t you fancy signing up for everything straight away.

Thursday 22nd September 2016 (11.00-15.00) – Freshers Farm

Say hello to some furry friends on campus at this one-day-only petting zoo. The Freshers Farm is free to enter and includes a BBQ, inflatables and music.

Saturday 24th September 2016 (13.00-15.00) – Family Tea Party

For those of you with children, this is a great opportunity to take some time out, relax with tea and cake on the Augustine Terrace, and meet other students who are juggling their studies with family life. Meanwhile there are plenty of activities, including face painting, to keep the little ones amused.

Sunday 25th September 2016 (20.00-03.00) – The Big Freshers Blow Out

Beware – this Canterbury-wide event is widely known as the biggest party of Freshers Week and sells out quickly. Includes an inflatables party, cheap drinks and great music, so get your tickets asap!
